Events

  • Make-up tutorial event: 
    • Tuesday or Thursday evening (after 6pm)
    • Stephanie has someone.  Follow-up once Steph’s living situation is better.
  • Game night at The Center? 
    • Join The Center and Blue Zones Project Bakersfield for a volunteer-led series of game nights filled with fun, connection, and community. Join us every Friday, 5:30-8 p.m., from April 4th through May 23rd at The Center Downtown - 902 18th St. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to board games, this is the perfect chance to relax, meet new people, and enjoy a welcoming space. Participation is optional—you're welcome to simply hang out. Drop in anytime during the event or register in advance through the Eventbrite link here. Links to an external site.
  • May 1: Lavender graduation in the early evening
    • Ronnie is graduating, and interested in attending
    • Anyone can attend to support the graduates.
    • Any ideas for speakers?
  • May 6: Rocky Horror movie- ASO office- 6-9 pm   
    • We can't meet after 7pm because the Student Center closes.  Would you like to meet from 4-7pm but with a different employee?
    • Approved to spend $75 on food on 4/1/25
  • May 23:  Graduation
  • August 2025:  Out on the Mountain
  • What events would you like to do?
    • Conferences can be LGBTQIA+ or leadership.  Conferences can be for California community colleges, for California, or national conferences for students.  Everyone look for conferences or other events or speakers, then send info to Advisor MO.

  • Nov. 1 2025:  2nd annual Dia de los Muertos:  Releasing the Dead Name

  • Here's when our members are generally available:  Tuesday or Thursday evening (after 6pm)

  • Event Request form (but MO must reserve room)

  • How did the CRLA guest speaker event go?
  • Ideas from the Safe Space Social:
    • (Paper) Petition for gender neutral bathrooms:  Who would like to lead?
    • Faculty/Staff award: Savannah is taking lead
      • Call it "Rainbow Employee of the Year"?
      • Need flyer with our logo and this QR code:QR code for Rainbow Employee nominations (24-25)
      • Once have a flyer, MO, club members, and ASO can publicize
      • Once we have nominations, MO will work to add to a college celebration event.  Maybe 
        • Lavender graduation?

    • Section AOfficers - The officers shall be:  President, Vice President (or co-presidents), Secretary, Treasurer, and Inter-Club Liaison.  If there are fewer than five members willing and able to be an officer, then the Secretary position may be combined with the Treasurer and/or the Inter-Club Liaison positions.
    • Section BEligibility - Officers must enrolled in a minimum of 5 units and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. (see Edu. Code 76061 below) at Taft College each semester to be eligible. Alumni may be part of the club without being able to have an officer position.
